Addressing Fake Signups and Strengthening Our Community
We've recently faced an influx of fake signups using the txt.att.net domain. To protect our community, we’ve implemented a domain ban feature.
Hello APES Supporters,
In the fast-paced digital world, we do our best to maintain a safe and welcoming online environment for everyone interested in supporting our mission to rescue and rehome exotic animals. Recently, however, we've encountered an issue that we want to make you all aware of: an influx of fake signups using emails from the domain txt.att.net.
What Happened?
Over the last month, we've noticed a significant rise in fake registrations trying to creep into our system using the domain txt.att.net. These spam signups do not just clutter our database, but they also hinder our ability to connect authentically with people who genuinely care about the welfare of exotic animals.
Our Response
To protect our community and ensure you're receiving only the most relevant and genuine communications from us, we have implemented a domain ban feature on our website. This means if we notice a specific domain abusing our signup process, we now have the ability to block it.
How This Affects You
While this is a necessary step to secure our community, it may inadvertently affect some legitimate users. If you find that you're unable to register because of a domain block, don’t worry! We are here to help. Simply reach out to us at administrator@apes.org.uk, and we’ll work with you to find a suitable solution, whether that involves lifting the block for certain circumstances or finding another way for you to participate in our community.
Our Commitment
APES is committed to providing a safe, spam-free experience for all our supporters. Your engagement and passion are what drive our mission forward. The security measures we put in place are to make sure that your voice is heard and valued amongst the many who share our goals and passion for the well-being of exotic animals.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to enhance our systems. Thank you for your continued support and for being a vital part of the APES community.
